“Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave.” ―
While desperately trying to avoid ‘rights’ deprivation and further traumatization of my only child Audrie Elizabeth Sargent I stumble across the following vague and unfamiliar note from a Permanency Hearing In which I attentively attended on April 9th, 2018, but was somehow without an appointed ad litem as counsel.
So upon many actions and calls later in search of my rights and of an explanation for the past apparently changing before my eyes I make a call to a local attorneys office with multiple addresses and phone numbers. Brandy Hinton answer’s to inform me it is Attorney Rick Dunn’s Office. I tell her my guess that they may be my appointed attorney ad litem for parent in my Parental-Rights Termination Suit after my Child’s Removal by CPS without a court order months before. As I tell them the strange news, she says she does not know of me, cannot find my case, and that she will check into it.

So of course I called my newly court-appointed attorney ad litem for parent in my ‘rights’ termination suit by the Texas Department of Family Protective Services just to make sure my ‘rights’ where exactly where I was told I could find them, but again encountered a very opposing statement of fact from Brandy.

At least Rick Dunn’s Office sent me the letter showing I have had my ‘rights’ represented since the hearing note from the Honorable Judge Brian Gary referencing the date of April 9th, 2018. This is the envelope that followed, and the letter that was contained within it. It came via USPS to the same address I provided the court on my sworn affidavit of indigency in October 2017, the same address I never changed with the court, and the very same address that I indeed still reside at to this day.
So I now finally & clearly have someone who is representing me in defense of my ‘rights’ as appointed counsel ad litem for parent in Suit Affecting the Parent-Child Relationship that is of such fundamental liberty interest to us as American citizens.
As you can obviously see in the event note from Judge Gary I was in attendance, but failed to defend myself as I provided (no tsty-appt Dunn as atty) on April 9th, 2018.
An Initial Permanency Order restricting my daughter and my own ‘rights’ to each other as parent child was still rendered and signed into order by Judge Gary however. I also never saw or met said attorney, and was in fact told by Judge Gary directly that I would not be appointed replacement counsel until I filed a second indigency affidavit with the 397th Court. I instead simply informed the Honorable Judge that my initial approval and order finding indigency covered me throughout the entire suit, and any and all appeals so I would not be filing any additional indigency paperwork. The hearing was then adjourned.
So I now can be certain that my new (or priorly current) attorney:
- Has my correct address of 29 FM 2729 Whitewright, Texas 75491
- AND is either;
- Rick Dunn, Attorney at Law at 402 West Lamar in Sherman, Texas as per the envelope, or
- J. Richard Dunn at 108 N. Travis St. in Sherman, Texas.
- Has been my appointed attorney since;
- Judge Gary noted he was such in April 9th 2018 Hearing Note-BKG, or
- The Attorney Appointed heading states as 4/11/2018 he was, or
- The letter’s date of May 21st sent by the court coordinator states.
- Has NOT provided me a BAR NUMBER or a HEARING DATE on this letter like my first appointed attorney ad litem provided me.
So since my thumb reaches my hand-computer so easily I have determined that one of these 2 individuals may or may not know where I can find my ‘rights’.
They both obviously have the same phone number, the same address, different firm sizes, and different graduation dates at different colleges. Just because the firm name Jim Dunn, P.C. is not the same as the firm name Dunn Law Offices, AND 06245000 is not the same bar number as 00783995 does not mean that we can not be certain of who exactly is ‘defending’ my ‘rights’ does it???
Surely we can determine which would even have earned the ‘right’ to represent a client in such a fundamentally important & constitutionally protected liberty interest as that of our family simply by another thumbing with the computer-hand couldn’t we???
Here is the Texas BAR search result for certified attorneys for this type of law suit containing the name DUNN.
And here is the Texas BAR search of all the State-certified lawyers in Grayson County, Texas.
Im starting to feel a little light-headed. Either I forgot to drink water all week, or am maybe just slightly ‘rights-deprived’ at this point. Keep reading and you can be the judge of what is right and/or wrong in my case???
